One way I'm calming my nervous system

Hi Reader!

Holy cow, how is it almost the end of our first quarter?! I don't know about you, but for me, it feels like this Q has been a year... business stuff in flux, politics doing stuff nowhere on my bingo card, family chaos (though much of it good like my new nephew 😍).

It's been a lot. And I'm sure life has been super lifey for you too, Reader.

One way I've been calming my nervous system lately is by putting on my sleep mask and using my noise canceling headphones to listen to an audiobook on Libby.

If you don't know, Libby is a library app. Completely free and hooked up to your local library card(s). Access also gets me a pass to Craftsy and a movie streaming platform called Kanopy.

I'll listen to an audiobook during chores or easy copy-paste work. But listening while wearing the sleep mask has been really helping my body relax fully, especially since my sensory processing gets overwhelmed.

If you're looking for a free way to calm your nervous system, I hope you'll check out your library (in person or this app).

A blurry photo of a street light at night

Hi Reader! Last night my kid freaked out that she wasn't "doing as much at school" as she thought she should. She thinks that she should be functioning at the same level as she was last year. We've now moved three times and have been living out of suitcases for over a month since the flood. Meanwhile, she's practicing Spanish for an in-person interview, doing a project for the science fair, analyzing a novel for the first time, being a part of a business group capstone project, and directing...

A keyboard and a cup of coffee on a blanket

Hi Reader! I’m looking for a new place for the fam to live next month. The renovation from the flood is taking longer than they planned, and the temporary rental was only for a month. But I wanted to sit down and make sure I didn’t forget to send you this email. I really dislike when I forget to email you each week! I've been doing a little bit of digital spring cleaning lately and came across this presentation template for proposing pilots. This is what I used when I was proposing new...

A crowd of people are throwing confetti in the air

Hi Reader! I hope you had a restful weekend holiday. My life is still a little disjointed managing without my house and all our stuff. Living in suitcases sucks y'all... but I do have some good news! On Friday I got a message from one mentee that they have accepted an offer. And then on Sunday, another mentee shared that they accepted an offer! 🥳 Another mentee's contract is ending so they're starting to look again. In honor of all their hard work, I'm thought I'd share the ID Agency List...
